Makeup tips for aging skin

How to bring out the best in matured skin by accentuating your beauty

As we age, our skin becomes thinner, less moist and starts sagging. Furthermore, the way we've treated our skin during our life, becomes visible in the formation of wrinkles, fine lines around the eyes and age spots.

We sometimes make the mistake to apply too much makeup, trying to hide the signs of aging. What most of us don't know is that heavy makeup usually draws attention to these imperfections in aging skin instead of masking them.

How to start before applying make up

First of all you should prepare your skin before putting on makeup by, after cleaning your face, using a moisturizer suitable for matured skin. There are many moisturizers and foundations on the market but unfortunately not all of them keep their promise on nourishing a mature skin or are suitable to use under makeup.

If you are not sure which one suits you and don't want to spend months trying different formulas and spending a lot of money on them, I can recommend the Xtend-Life's Age-Defense Active Day Cream.

It contains active ingredients in effective amounts that actually reduce signs of aging skin. This moisturizer attacks the main causes our skin matures.

Secondly, use an eye cream. You may wonder why this is necessary besides using a moisturizer. The reason we want to use a separate eye cream is because the skin is very thin around the eyes, especially while our skin is aging. The ingredients used in other creams penetrate deep into our skin but since the skin around the eyes is much thinner, it becomes irritated. In some eye creams ingredients like Eyeliss are used to get the best results without risking damage to our eyes.

Again, I can recommend a product from Xtend-Life because this company understands the importance of taking good care of our skin by using all the right ingredients in effective amounts to get the best results unlike products from many other manufacturers.

Gently pat it in and don't use too much of either the day and eye cream.

After preparing your skin, you can start bringing on make up.

Tips on how to accentuate your beauty with makeup for a mature skin

Foundation

Start by using a liquid formula with a yellow undertone instead of a pink one to let your skin look natural. Use a sponge to ensure it is spread evenly. Finish your base by dusting of loose powder with a large brush.

Blush

Creme blush works better on a mature skin than a powder and should be applied where it reddens when you blush. When you suck in your cheeks you will see the right area. The blush should be applied to the spot that sticks out (your cheek bone).

A great tip to identify the right color and placement for blush is to walk in the cold. You will see where you flush and what color your cheeks develop. Match your blush to this color, don't use darker shades, and apply it on this area.

Eyes

Use neutral, matte shades shadow to cover your eyelid (glimmery eye shadows accentuate fine lines so avoid those). Than apply some soft highlighter shadow (cream or sand colors) under your brow. This will widen your eyes. Use an eye liner only on the top lid and a brown or black mascara on the top lashes.

Lips

Use a lip brush to apply lipstick and seek for moisturizing ones preferably with SPF 15 to keep your lips moist and defend them from damage of sun rays. To accentuate more full lips, apply gloss only on the middle of your lips.

There's a lot to find about makeup for aging skin on the internet. Also, ask your beautician what suits your skin best. But most important, start with a under makeup base. Use the right moisturizer and eye cream like the ones of Xtend-life,
http://www.xtend-life.com, I mentioned earlier in this article. It is the first step in keeping your skin healthy and as a result your skin looks younger and more flawless. It also creates a very smooth surface for your makeup and gives the most beautiful result for your aging skin.
