Treatment for Eyes: Getting Rid of Eye Bags,
Dark Circles, and Under Eye Wrinkles
If you are like most people, your skin -- especially the
skin on your face -- can do with a little pampering. This is
because problems like
under eye bags and
dark eye circles can appear or become worse if you neglect
to take care of your facial skin. Here are some skin treatment
tips you might find useful.
Treatment for Bags Under Eyes
Swollen eyes are not something you want other people to see,
unless you want them to think you spent a sleepless night, or
that you spent hours crying. The good news is, there are many
home remedies that can dramatically reduce puffy eyes, and so
many people swear by them.
Perhaps the simplest home remedy of all for treating
bags under your eyes is to simply use cold water. You can
either splash cold water several times on your face or immerse
your face in a basin filled with cold water for a few seconds.
The coldness will constrict the blood vessels underneath your
skin and help to reduce swelling.
Fruits and vegetables are other helpful items in your
kitchen that can be used in treating eye bags. Slice a cucumber
and place them on your eyelids for about fifteen minutes. Or
grate a peeled potato into tiny pieces, place them in a clean
cloth to make a poultice, which you then place underneath your
eyes for about the same amount of time. You may also just slice
a potato in half -- after washing it -- and apply the two
halves to the skin below your eyes for about ten minutes.
Tea bags are also popular home remedies for getting rid of
bags under the eyes. Steep two tea bags, green tea or black tea
will do, and let them cool a bit until they become comfortably
warm to the touch. Then lie back and place them on your closed
eyelids.
Treatment for Dark Circles Under Eyes
The so-called raccoon eyes or panda eyes are very unsightly;
however, there are a few home remedies that can also improve
their appearance. The versatile cucumber plays another part
here. What you can do is to take a couple of cotton pads, dip
them in cucumber juice, and let them stay on your eyelids for
about fifteen minutes.
You can also use almond oil to massage the skin below your
eyes. Some people apply a mixture of almond oil and lime juice
to the under-eye area after treating it with hot and cold
compresses just before going to sleep at night. This can help
alleviate dark eye circles.
You can also consider eye creams available on the market
that target both
dark circles under your eyes and eye bags. Just make sure
to choose a skin care product that contains only safe and
hypoallergenic ingredients.
Finally, make sure you get enough hours of sleep regularly,
include plenty of fruits and vegetables in your diet, and learn
some stress-management techniques. All these are practical
treatment for eyes methods that will help keep you looking
younger and refreshed.
