Culture and health are important to Eric, and the New Black Cultural Diet Program bridges both issues for him. Losing weight, having a better quality of life through nutrition and exercise, and keeping himself motivated are important parts of his life. Becoming different for the better is a decision that he does not regret, and it's a lifestyle plan to which he has pledged commitment.

-What finally made you start to decide with a weight loss program?
I needed to find a way to provide an effective culturally-competent method in losing weight the way that I wanted to lose it all within my cultural health values system.

-What type of weight loss program are you following?
I followed the New Black Cultural Diet program.

-Why did you choose this weight loss program?
I chose the New Black Cultural Diet Weight Loss Program because it examines my entire lifestyle and eating pattern and finds an effective way to implement it.

-How long have you been on your weight loss program?
I have been on the New Black Cultural Diet Program for the past 8 years.

-What kinds of physical activities do you like doing to help you lose weight and stay fit?
1. Working out to the Billy Blanks DVDs (Fat Blaster & ABS workout)
2. Riding the exercise bike
3. Lifting my barbells
4. Completing my once-a-week intense football-oriented workout (agility drills, defensive back drills, wide receiving drills)

-What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome or are still overcoming?
The most difficult obstacle that I have had to overcome is working my exercise and physical fitness regimen into my busy schedule. Once I specifically allocated the time, my workouts were easier and efficient.

-How do you keep yourself motivated?
I kept myself motivated by believing that I could become even more “fit” and that it was a matter of a better quality of life.

-Do you have any weight loss tips for our readers?
My weight loss tips to your readers are:
1. Find at least one or two exercises that you can do and that you enjoy doing.
2. Start off with easy exercises and gradually build up.
3. Maintain a steady regular exercise regimen and attempt to slowly increase its intensity.

-Do you think it will be easy to fall back into your old lifestyle pattern? How do you prevent this from happening?
I do NOT think it will be easy to fallback into my old lifestyle because I have physically, mentally, spiritually and culturally changed my lifestyle to a brand new lifestyle and orientation. I am totally different comprehensively from my old lifestyle and enjoy the new orientation.

-Do you have a favorite Web site or blog that helps or inspires you to lose weight?
My favorite website or blog is Billy Blanks – Tae Bo.
Of course, my most favorite website is: The New Black Cultural Diet and the blog.
