Liquid diets or meal replacement diets may not work for everyone, but for Nnedi, it was a major part of her weight loss journey, along with keeping herself physically active and consistently believing in herself. Find some practical weight loss tips in Nnedi's interview below.

-What finally made you decide to start with a weight loss program?
To look and feel better; I got tired of hearing how pretty my face looked.

-What type of weight loss program did you follow?
I followed the Medifast diet.

-Why did you choose this weight loss program?
I chose it because it was structured: no weighing, measuring or counting.

-How long were you on your weight loss program?
9 months

-What kinds of physical activities do you like doing to maintain your weight and to stay fit?
To stay fit I still workout 90 minutes a day 7 days a week.  One hour on the treadmill and thirty minutes lifting weights.

-What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome or are still overcoming?
One of the obstacles that I have been able to overcome is the fear of dressing nice. When I was overweight I was conservative in what I wore; now I wear what I like and be comfortable with it. Also, flying in a plane is no longer a problem, the seats now fit better.

-How did you keep yourself motivated?
I keep myself motivated by loving myself and believing in myself and this gives me inner happiness, which allows me to continue to work hard.

-Do you have any weight loss tips for our readers?
A few weight loss tips are:
*Sign a contract with yourself promising yourself to stay with your diet.
*Start a journal, recording all of your daily intakes, activities, emotions, etc. *Get active. Perform some kind of exercise that you enjoy like walking, running, swimming, no less than 30 minutes a day.
*Eat smart.
*Monitor your progress and reward yourself.

-Do you think it will be easy to fall back into your old lifestyle pattern? How do you prevent this from happening?
I would not fall back to my old eating pattern because I like how I look and feel, I try to stay strong and keep myself busy and disciplined.

-Do you have a favorite Web site or blog that helped or inspired you to lose weight?
My favorite website is www.liquiddietdiscussion.com.
